Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Ensure to sift for lighter texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce To control sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Packed.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil Can use melted butter.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a standard loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients: applesauce, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and oil. Whisk until well combined.
Mixing
  1. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  2. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and foil, then freeze for up to 2-3 months. Thaw at room temperature.
