Ingredients
  

Brownie Cookie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 8 oz good quality chocolate Chopped or in chips
  • 1.5 cups sugar Granulated
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Pure
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 cup cocoa powder Unsweetened
Sundae Toppings
  • 1 cup chocolate fudge sauce For drizzling
  • 1 cup vanilla bean ice cream For serving
  • 0.5 cup sprinkles Colorful
  • 0.5 cup mini marshmallows Optional
  • 0.5 cup chopped nuts Pecans or walnuts

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chocolate together. Stir until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by vanilla extract.
  5. Sift the flour and cocoa powder together, then fold into the chocolate mixture just until combined.
Baking
  1. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  3. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top.
  2. Drizzle with chocolate fudge sauce and sprinkle with toppings of your choice.

Notes

For a gooey center, slightly underbake the cookies. Customize toppings for a DIY sundae bar experience.
