  • 1 cup heat-treated all-purpose flour Ensure the flour is properly heat-treated for safety.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Packed brown sugar for enhanced flavor.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Softened for easier mixing.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt A pinch for balancing sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.
For Presentation
  • extra pinch sea salt To sprinkle on top before serving.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to heat-treat the flour.
  2. Spread flour on a baking sheet and bake for 5-10 minutes to kill bacteria.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Mix in the heat-treated flour and sea salt until fully incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Assembly
  1. Scoop the cookie dough mixture into a mini muffin tin, pressing down gently.
  2. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cup.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to set the texture.
