  • 2 tablespoons rapid-rise yeast This is key for the quick rise.
  • 1 cup warm water or milk Make sure it's warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Helps with browning and flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential for flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil Melted butter adds richness.

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, rapid-rise yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water or milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients.
  3. Mix until a shaggy dough forms. No need to knead!
  4. Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let it rest for 10 minutes while the oven preheats.
Shaping and Baking
  1. After the rest, divide the dough into 12 equal portions.
  2. Shape each portion into a roll and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Allow the rolls to rise in a warm spot for about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.

Notes

These rolls are best served warm with butter or honey. They'll also keep in an airtight container for 2-3 days. If frozen, reheat in the microwave or warm oven to restore freshness. Add herbs or cheese for variation.
