Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing an overhang.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan and mix in the sugar until glossy. Allow to cool slightly.
- Whisk in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla, red food coloring, and vinegar.
Mixing and Baking
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out.
Frosting (optional)
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
- Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting over the top.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the batter and avoid overbaking to maintain fudginess. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days.
