  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate and Caramel
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet or mix of dark chocolate
  • 1 cup soft caramel candies Cut into pieces or homemade salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt For sprinkling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel pieces.
Chilling and Baking
  1. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent spreading.
  2. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Sprinkle each ball with flaky sea salt before baking.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  5. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in nuts or spices like cinnamon. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
