Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels Can substitute with gluten-free pretzels.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
For the cream layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Can substitute with dairy-free cream cheese.
  • 1 cup whipped topping Can substitute with dairy-free whipped topping.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
For the gelatin layer
  • 1 pkg strawberry gelatin Can use sugar-free gelatin if desired.
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced Macerate with sugar for enhanced flavor if desired.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Enhances flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar until mixed well.
  3. Press the pretzel mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until set and lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.
Cream Layer
  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
  2. Add powdered sugar and whipped topping and mix until well combined.
  3. Spread the cream mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, within 30 minutes of baking.
Gelatin Layer
  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved.
  2. Add the sliced strawberries and lemon juice to the gelatin mixture, stirring gently.
  3. Allow the gelatin mixture to cool slightly before pouring over the cream layer.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.

Notes

For a variation, you can substitute strawberries with other fruits like peaches or berries depending on the season. The recipe can be modified for dietary needs by using gluten-free or dairy-free ingredients.
