  • 4 cups bread flour Good quality bread flour is recommended for best results.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk This adds sweetness and moisture.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter Melted before adding to the dough.
  • 1 pkg active dry yeast Ensure it’s fresh for effective rising.
  • 1 cup warm milk Helps activate the yeast.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Enhances sweetness.
  • 2 large eggs They add richness and moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
For the egg wash
  • 1 large egg Beaten, for brushing on the rolls.
  • 1 tbsp milk Mixed with the egg for the wash.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add condensed milk, melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture to the flour.
  4. Mix until a dough forms and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Shaping
  1. Punch down the risen dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
  2. Shape each piece into a roll, ensuring even tension and consistent shape.
Final Proofing
  1. Place rolls in a baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brush the rolls with the egg wash and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Let cool before serving.

Notes

For a tender crust, add steam to the oven when baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
